Week 10 - Part 2

I decided to use a couple of my most recent Senior photoshots to add my watermark to & possibly try the paint tool to add the names of each student.

This is my original photo of Ashley. A great person with a sweet personality!!

This is my after photo!! I painted on her name & year with the photoshop texting tool & painted the text blue. I also added my watermark but creating a new layer and copying my font from another layered photo to keep it the same font & size. I then added that layer to my photos by processing multiple photos at once which then produced the watermark on all the photos in the same locations. I also used the vignette tool and chose a color for this photo this time. I then used the auto enhance
option to make the image pop a bit more.
Before:
This Second senior was absolutely stunning! She had very little flaw. The one big thing I had to deal with was her fly away pieces of hair.

This after photo shows that I used the clone tool to remove her fly aways.. I then had to match them up with using the back ground images around them to produce a decent image. I didnt use the paint bucket tool much other than filling in a white dot on her shirt ..which I had actually done on the first image before I thought of adding this photo in..I did also auto enhance and then highlighted with the added vingette again. Also added a watermark to the final image as well!

Week 10 - Photostory

Here are some images for my photostory.. I have decided to possibly do it on the subject of how my family has grown. I may keep some photos but also may add.. not sure yet... lol.. please do NOT mind my facial expressions.. pregnancy was hard for me..lol!! They are in NO particular order at this time.. some images are sideways for some reason I could NOT get them to rotate.. I will dont you worry though..lol!!

Week 10- Part 1

This week we were asked to focus on Text, Clone, Paint and Patch tools... I started playing around with my photoshop some more and this is what I have done so far.

Orignal Photo:

After Photo:

It was hard for me to choose an image to edit because usually I edit them as soon as I can when they are uploaded..lol. Anyhow I was able to find from a recent childcare trip to the beach. I chose a picture of a couple of my silly childcare kiddos, that I could manipulate (or TRY) in photoshop, and this one was it. Using Photoshop I was able to use the clone tool to remove a few of the sand toys. I then used the text tool and found out how to manipulate it so I could get an arched angle. I havent played with the text often with Photoshop and I have actually enjoyed myself!
I think I am getting the hang of this but find myself learning something NEW every time I get back into the tools! :)

Week 9 part 2

Ok so maybe I am getting carried away. I am just playing more with the filters and what not in Gimp and wanted to show you all some more ideas of things I have done! :)
This is the original

then I played with the lighting effects filter and it brightened the sky to look like the sun was captured more than it originally had.

for this 3rd image I enhance the contrast a bit and burned the sky to make it brighter (as you can tell I actually cut off some the detail on the trees..ooops...lol.. I wanted to color the sky to make it appear more vivid yet had trouble figuring that part out on how to add colors. :) I will figure it out eventually..lol! Lastly in this image I played with the render filter and then chose the nature filter and then the flame filter to make it look as if maybe it was an older, bit damaged photo.

this photo I played with the weave filter and found I actually liked its after product! looks pretty cool to me! :)

My last edit was to make the image look as if it were old and so I played with the old filter and this is the outcome.. pretty cool as well!

I am trying very hard to learn the new things on GIMP and I am beginning to fall in love with all that it has to offer.. I am pretty partial to Picasa as I have been using it for SO long.. I just may have found a new program to work with!!! Thanks! :)

Week 9

As hard as it was for me to really wrap my head around the whole GIMP program.. I actually have been playing around with it  a bit more and just may actually be starting to enjoy working with the tools and techniques it has to offer! :)

My original photo :

My second photo I used the dodge and burn tool to lighten up the stem of the flower. I then used the blur tool to give the image a softer feel.

My third photo I use the Gaussian Blur with the soft glow filter then I kept playing with the image and gave it a rippling filter which gave it a funny look..lol.. kinda like the flower is near or in water. I then adjusted the color balance with the midtones being 25 for Cyan -33 for Green and blue was a level of 57... I think it came out pretty cool :)

Week 8

Hi Everyone..
So I really did not know what program I was gonna use.. I dont really care for the GIMP program right now.. maybe as I keep digging I may come to care for it but for now I dont. Photoshop I use alot but would like it if it was a bit more user friendly when it comes to editing. I have found that I LOVE Picasa as my editing program because I can find my way around alot easier than the others. I seem to like the quality of the program aftermath too.. as my prints come out well! With that being said.. I chose to use Picasa as my program to edit/manipulate or change up my images.

The First set of images are fireworks from the fourth of july celebration in Jay Vt....

Image 1 is very blurry... on my camera setting I just took the picture without my tripod...
Image 2 is with my tripod and a slower shutter speed.... I did a brighten enhancement only...
Image 3 is with the tripod but I picked it up and missed alot of it.. also its construed or breaking apart.. I did have the shutter speed low but it still did NOT help as you can tell..lol.. but I manually moved the whole setup...

Image 4 is my favorite as it looks as if its blowing away! I did NOT move the camera or tripod and I also DID NOT enhance the photo at all.

This next group of images are a children that I care for on a daily basis.. the mom wanted me to capture some images and this is what I did...
This is the original photo...

In Picasa I gave the color a boost, and lightened it up... I also added the vignette around the edges to make the image pop a little bit!! :)

In this next set of photos is a baby that I care for daily!
This first image was one his mom adored... which again I just gave a lil color boost and added the vignette border....

This image is the same photo just with using the pencil sketch tool I was able to change the image.. that alone seems to make the image turn out great! Check out he sparkle in his eyes!! <3

Selection & Editing #2

In this blog I took 2 separate images and made one! The first image is of a landscape picture that I took of Willoughby Lake in Westmore VT. The second image is of a cow that was in front of the Moulton Farm on the Echo Lake Rd in East Charleston VT. I merged the two in CS2 (Photoshop) then I actually ended up a taking the image into my Picasa to do some retouching as I could NOT figure out out to get ALL the glow around the addition to come out.. so I will DEF be exploring that more as time goes on & play with it.. until then I figured I would send you all what I was able to conjure up! :) Hope you enjoy!

Selection Tools

I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to do for this assigment without overwhelming myself.. lol!! Gotta love having a very active family who is always on the go!
I decided to work with some team photos of my daughter's softball team!

The first image is a shot I took of the back of the players and coaches... It initally came out dark and blah! Also the second coach did NOT have his label on his shirt (if you notice he is the one further on the right).
BEFORE:
This second image is after I had utilized the photo enhancing wand to brighten and boost the colors. I also used the text tool to add the coach's label to the back of his shirt! I then added the vignette around the photo to give it more of a pop and help boost it visually.

AFTER:

I really like how the second one came out and the editing help make the picture that much better with out ruining the image as a whole.
