Photostory

So this is it... my last project for this class!! I had a blast with everyone this semester!!
I so thought this was due tonight & had been on vacation so .. thankfully it was extended...THANK YOU Kevin!! :)

I took the photos in which I originally intended to use and edited them using the black and white as I was running into so many issues being that some were sooo old...lol...so I decided to make a black and white story.... afterall isnt life best seen in black and white?? :) I hope you all enjoy my story!! I will now go check out everyone elses!! Have a great summer everyone!

I had a little trouble navigating the movie/slide show creations but I guess it worked...

For Each of the pictures I used ... the blur tool to rub out marks showing wear and tear.. I did use the text tool to put captions on the photos as well. I then softened the images to reduce some of the noise or smoothen out the pixels in the images that I scanned in.. I gave vignette to most of the images to enhance them a bit more and removed the stress puffs under my eyes in a few images too.. :) I chose the black and white for them all because I felt it just tells more to the story... esp how much family has grown.. :)

I hope you can all see it on here.. please let me know if you have trouble!!

Week 11

My portrait photography for this week was going to be on some of my senior pictures but had a change of events! I actually caught these images on my Iphone.. I was trying so hard to get this one lil guy who does NOT like to smile to do so at a family function for a passing family/friend... this is what I got...

First Set : The lil guy was watching balloons go into the air in memory of Granny.... I left the color one and then edited with photoshop & gave the black and white look to try and show more emotion.. which I think I may have had some success with... let me know what you think??

This second set of the same lil guy.. his mom was tryin to get him to "pose" for me... he just kept giggling... I tried a few different attempts myself and then just figured I would do my best to just capture his "innocence" because there was NO way he was going to set still for any amount of time..

Black and white again because I LOVE the look of his grin in this one!!

Third set of images I told him Granny put a monkey in my phone and if he wanted to see it that he should smile...lol! He seemed intrigued so I just clicked! I think his mom was ecstatic because we actually caught a pic of him actually looking....lol!!

Again.. I did the black and white to maybe give some more depth and sincerity to the picture.

After these images, the little guy had to see the "Monkey" and I just turned the camera around so he could see himself and he ran off laughing and told everyone that my Granny put a monkey on Michelles phone that looks just like him!!!! <3

Week 10 - Part 2

I decided to use a couple of my most recent Senior photoshots to add my watermark to & possibly try the paint tool to add the names of each student.

This is my original photo of Ashley. A great person with a sweet personality!!

This is my after photo!! I painted on her name & year with the photoshop texting tool & painted the text blue. I also added my watermark but creating a new layer and copying my font from another layered photo to keep it the same font & size. I then added that layer to my photos by processing multiple photos at once which then produced the watermark on all the photos in the same locations. I also used the vignette tool and chose a color for this photo this time. I then used the auto enhance
option to make the image pop a bit more.
Before:
This Second senior was absolutely stunning! She had very little flaw. The one big thing I had to deal with was her fly away pieces of hair.

This after photo shows that I used the clone tool to remove her fly aways.. I then had to match them up with using the back ground images around them to produce a decent image. I didnt use the paint bucket tool much other than filling in a white dot on her shirt ..which I had actually done on the first image before I thought of adding this photo in..I did also auto enhance and then highlighted with the added vingette again. Also added a watermark to the final image as well!

Week 10 - Photostory

Here are some images for my photostory.. I have decided to possibly do it on the subject of how my family has grown. I may keep some photos but also may add.. not sure yet... lol.. please do NOT mind my facial expressions.. pregnancy was hard for me..lol!! They are in NO particular order at this time.. some images are sideways for some reason I could NOT get them to rotate.. I will dont you worry though..lol!!

Week 10- Part 1

This week we were asked to focus on Text, Clone, Paint and Patch tools... I started playing around with my photoshop some more and this is what I have done so far.

Orignal Photo:

After Photo:

It was hard for me to choose an image to edit because usually I edit them as soon as I can when they are uploaded..lol. Anyhow I was able to find from a recent childcare trip to the beach. I chose a picture of a couple of my silly childcare kiddos, that I could manipulate (or TRY) in photoshop, and this one was it. Using Photoshop I was able to use the clone tool to remove a few of the sand toys. I then used the text tool and found out how to manipulate it so I could get an arched angle. I havent played with the text often with Photoshop and I have actually enjoyed myself!
I think I am getting the hang of this but find myself learning something NEW every time I get back into the tools! :)

Week 9 part 2

Ok so maybe I am getting carried away. I am just playing more with the filters and what not in Gimp and wanted to show you all some more ideas of things I have done! :)
This is the original

then I played with the lighting effects filter and it brightened the sky to look like the sun was captured more than it originally had.

for this 3rd image I enhance the contrast a bit and burned the sky to make it brighter (as you can tell I actually cut off some the detail on the trees..ooops...lol.. I wanted to color the sky to make it appear more vivid yet had trouble figuring that part out on how to add colors. :) I will figure it out eventually..lol! Lastly in this image I played with the render filter and then chose the nature filter and then the flame filter to make it look as if maybe it was an older, bit damaged photo.

this photo I played with the weave filter and found I actually liked its after product! looks pretty cool to me! :)

My last edit was to make the image look as if it were old and so I played with the old filter and this is the outcome.. pretty cool as well!

I am trying very hard to learn the new things on GIMP and I am beginning to fall in love with all that it has to offer.. I am pretty partial to Picasa as I have been using it for SO long.. I just may have found a new program to work with!!! Thanks! :)

Week 9

As hard as it was for me to really wrap my head around the whole GIMP program.. I actually have been playing around with it  a bit more and just may actually be starting to enjoy working with the tools and techniques it has to offer! :)

My original photo :

My second photo I used the dodge and burn tool to lighten up the stem of the flower. I then used the blur tool to give the image a softer feel.

My third photo I use the Gaussian Blur with the soft glow filter then I kept playing with the image and gave it a rippling filter which gave it a funny look..lol.. kinda like the flower is near or in water. I then adjusted the color balance with the midtones being 25 for Cyan -33 for Green and blue was a level of 57... I think it came out pretty cool :)
